Nigerian American Candidates in the 2022 Midterm Elections Honored at the 2023 UNAC-MD Evening of Excellence.
In the 2022 midterm elections, we had a record number of Nigerian Americans contest for various seats and a handful of them were victorious. Befittingly UNAC-MD honored all of the contestants at the Evening of Excellence held on January 14, 2023 at Tarmac Lounge in Prince George’s County. UNAC – MD provides various avenues for political participation in the American electoral process, recruits / supports candidates for political office, and encourages social/civic participation as follows:
Provides Leadership and organizational capacity and training for all African, and Nigerian community-based organizations.
Advocates on behalf of all African, and Nigerian Communities through democratic and inclusive organizational structures, as well as partnership with governmental institutions.
Serves as the resource Clearinghouse of the Nigerian Community to advance common interest.
